Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Service form a binding agreement between you and Unaite, a federation of student societies dedicated to artificial intelligence, based in Paris, France (referred to as Unaite, we, us, or our). They govern your access to and use of the website at unaite.fr and any related pages, member areas, forms, events, and programs that we operate (together, the Service).
By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

- Any text, images, graphics, code, designs, logos, and other material made available through the Service.
- Member
- A person granted access to the member area or content administration tools of the Service after manual activation by an administrator.
- Submission
- Any material you send to us through a form, by email, or through a program we run, including research papers entered into a call for papers.

Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your country if that age is higher, to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these terms. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you are authorised to bind that organisation.
Description of the service
The Service provides information about Unaite, its member societies, its events, and its research and education programs. It also includes forms through which you may register interest in events, submit material to a program, or contact us, and a private member area for the administration of content.
We may add, change, suspend, or remove parts of the Service at any time. We are under no obligation to keep any feature, event, program, or piece of Content available.
Member accounts and access
Certain areas of the Service, including the content administration dashboard, are restricted to Members. Authentication for these areas is provided through a third-party identity provider. Creating an account does not by itself grant access: dashboard access is granted manually by an administrator in order to keep content management in trusted hands, and may be refused, limited, or revoked at our discretion.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date.
- You must notify us without delay at contact@unaite.fr if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.
- You must not share, sell, or transfer your access to any other person.
Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of, or restrict or inhibit the use of the Service by, anyone else. In particular, you agree not to:
- Break any applicable law or regulation, or encourage any unlawful activity.
- Submit content that is false, misleading, defamatory, obscene, hateful, harassing, or otherwise objectionable.
- Infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any person or organisation.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, any account, any server, or any connected system, or probe, scan, or test their vulnerability.
- Introduce viruses, malware, or any other harmful or disruptive code.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service, including through automated scraping, denial of service, or excessive requests.
- Use the Service to send unsolicited communications or to collect information about other users without their consent.
We may investigate any suspected breach of these terms and may suspend or terminate your access without notice.
Events and registration
We organise and promote Events. Some Events are hosted on third-party platforms, and registration for those Events may take place on those platforms rather than on our website. Where you register through a third-party platform, that platform’s own terms and privacy policy apply to your use of it, in addition to these terms.
Event details, including dates, locations, capacity, and speakers, may change or be cancelled. We are not responsible for travel, accommodation, or other costs you incur in connection with an Event. Attendance may be subject to additional rules, such as a code of conduct, which we will make available where they apply.
Your submissions
When you make a Submission, you remain the owner of any intellectual property rights you already hold in it. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, copy, review, and process the Submission for the purpose for which you provided it, such as evaluating a research paper, organising an Event, or responding to your request.
- You represent that you have the right to make the Submission and that it does not infringe the rights of any third party.
- You are solely responsible for the content and accuracy of your Submission.
- Where a program sets specific rules, such as formatting, anonymity, page limits, or eligibility, your Submission must follow them, and we may reject a Submission that does not.
- We are not obliged to publish, evaluate, return, or retain any Submission.
Intellectual property
The Service and its Content, including the Unaite name, logo, and brand, the text, graphics, layout, and code, are owned by Unaite or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the rights expressly granted to you in these terms, no right or licence is granted.
You may view and use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You must not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from the Service or its Content without our prior written permission, except where the law expressly allows it.
Third-party services and links
The Service relies on and links to third-party services, including for hosting, authentication, data storage, event management, and forms. We do not control these services and are not responsible for their content, availability, terms, or privacy practices. Your use of a third-party service is governed by that provider’s own terms.
Hosting and availability
The website is hosted by Vercel Inc. We rely on Vercel and other providers to make the Service available, and their infrastructure and terms apply to the operation of the Service.
We do not guarantee that the Service will be available without interruption, secure, or error free. We may suspend access for maintenance, updates, or reasons beyond our control, and we will not be liable for any unavailability.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
Information provided through the Service is for general purposes only and does not constitute professional, legal, or financial advice. You rely on it at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Unaite, its member societies, officers, volunteers, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Unaite, its member societies, officers, volunteers, and partners from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or connected with your use of the Service, your Submissions, or your breach of these terms or of any law or third-party right.
Privacy
Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. By using the Service you acknowledge that we process personal data as set out there.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes may be announced through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, in whole or in part, at any time and without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these terms or if we discontinue the Service. On termination, the rights granted to you under these terms will cease, while any provision that by its nature should survive, including those on intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, and indemnification, will continue to apply.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by French law, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Subject to any mandatory consumer protection rules that may apply to you, the courts of Paris, France, will have jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms or the Service.
General
- Entire agreement. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any rules specific to an Event or program, make up the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
- Severability. If any provision is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
- Assignment. You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these terms without our consent. We may transfer ours in connection with a reorganisation or transfer of our activities.
